Meet Veracity’s New Payment Processing App: vpsMobile
Mobile payments technology offers banks a prime opportunity to deepen relationships with merchant customers. If you’re thinking of jumping into the mobile payment solutions arena, you’re in luck: Veracity has just released a new mobile point-of-sale (POS) app for the small merchant marketplace. The app, Veracity vpsMobile, is available on iTunes for iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, and Google Play for Android. vpsMobile is an easy-to-use app that offers a mature mobile payments solution — and integrates seamlessly with Veracity’s existing ecosystem of merchant services.
vpsMobile advantages
vpsMobile offers several distinct advantages when compared with mobile payments solutions from other providers. Veracity’s solution is fully integrated into its merchant services solutions, where most other payment solutions are separate from the payment processor. Subsequently, they offer comparatively limited functionality, which constrains businesses as their needs grow and they demand more sophisticated technology.
vpsMobile also has the advantage of riding the second wave of mobile technology adoption, a phase in which most users — both merchants and their customers — feel more at home with mobile and ready to exploit it to the maximum.
“That is going to resonate with our banking channel because they don’t want technology that hasn’t been round the block and hasn’t been somewhat proven,” says Robert Johnston, Veracity product manager. “This will be right for them to adopt and roll out to their merchants.”
Security
Getting up and running with vpsMobile takes just 24-48 hours. A merchant downloads and installs the app, Veracity sets up the merchant credentials, ID, password and PIN, and then the merchant is ready to run transactions.
“It may take a fraction longer than simply plugging in a card reader, but the benefit is that we go through all the diligence for the protection of the merchant,” says Johnston. “We have the broad systems in place to help protect the merchant in the case of fraud and we have all the PCI compliance in the background.”
Extensibility
The app can connect to operations functions such as transaction management, reporting, receipt review, and batch management. And while a merchant can start with just handling mobile payments, the merchant can add website payment capabilities, virtual terminals, and traditional POS as their needs change.
For example, a photographer who takes and sells group shots on a beach might use the mobile app for real-time service. Back at his studio, he might be processing scores or hundreds of orders that call for a dedicated POS device.
“One of the benefits of getting a solution from Veracity is that the product line is extensible for that merchant, for the banks to tell them about,” says Johnston. “You’re not just offering one solution; you’re offering an array of solutions that meet that merchant’s needs and also can help them drive business.”
With vpsMobile, Veracity has made available a cutting-edge scalable mobile payments service that merchants can adapt and extend as their businesses grow. The app offers another means for banks to offer a service that will help them attract merchant customers and deepen their relationship with them. And merchants, in turn, will get more from their relationship from the bank. The result: Better customer stickiness.
